Is it safe to completely remove the battery on the GMC-300Eplus if it is always connected to USB power?

If a battery must be connected for safe operation, could the battery be replaced with large capacitor(s)? something like 2200uf+ @25v electrolytic capacitors?

Yes. You can remove the battery.

However, removing the battery is not necessary. The unit has a micro controller to control the power. When the battery is fully charged and there is a external power, the it will switch to external power automatically.

The large capacitor does not work.
