I noticed that when I hold (which of course is whenever I scan the surroundings...) the device, or if my hand is in the close vicinity of the device. the EF field goes up to high levels.
The curious thing is that the value only goes up in my office (at the desk), and not when I do the same thing other places... It seems that fields are strange things... Does anybody have any input on why this happens?
I am an electrical engineer but mostly work with high voltage production facilities and fields are not my speciality.
your body also has its own charge which can come to the fore when you approach your hand.
On the other hand, your body is conductive so the electrostatic field inside your entire body is zero, which can greatly influence the electrostatic field in its proximity.
The frequencies of the electrical network are always 50Hz or 60Hz, it's not really static but almost, I think that these fields intervene in the measurement and are therefore a source to consider. (to be checked)

That was my first theory as well. The question is also why the values rise to such high levels when I am touching the device on my desk, but not on other places? I haven't checked "everywhere" but on some other places where I measured, and didn't notice those changes.
