Posted - 08/22/2019 : 18:10:05 I have a GMC-320+ V5 that has been hanging on a peg in my basement displaying counts for the past two years. I noticed tonight that it was continuously displaying the startup logo and rebooting. I tried disconnecting power for a while, but it appears to have gone bye-bye. When I plug in USB power, it goes into this boot loop and also makes a squealing sound from the speaker. With the battery installed, it also boot loops (minus the speaker sound).
I presume these are not the symptoms of simply needing a tube replacement. Is there anything worth trying to diagnose or have I gotten all I'm getting out of it? I saw the sticky about measuring voltage, and with a standard multimeter I'm reading 160V on the tube ends when it's plugged in. There are no obvious blown components anywhere.
I do have a fairly extensive electronics workbench, so I can perform tests and repairs, I just don't know where to start. Or if it's worth it given the price of a brand new 500+. |

Posted - 10/13/2022 : 09:23:29 Hi IZ0YAY, please try to let the device reboot while connected to USB. It can last for few days if unlucky but after it reboots correctly, please do a factory reset. Then you can email support or me with your serial number to check for updates. |

Posted - 08/29/2019 : 08:58:24 Hi masto, can you email me your serial number? Thanks.
If you don't have it (unit is in bootloop) I'll need to contact support first. |

Posted - 08/23/2019 : 09:40:31 Hi mastro, something in the configuration has been messed up. Just try letting it boot loop for maybe 1 day? Hopefully it's fixed by then. If it didn't work, (seems like you can do electronics) we can re-flash the firmware. |
