I'm curious about the charging system of my new GMC-300.
At what voltage does the GMC-300 finish charging?
Does it charge the battery when it the unit is off?
And what mah does it charge at?

Thank you, Dan

I Changed The Battery out today with a Energizer 8.4v 175mah Rechargeable. (seen ZLM recommend this on this forum)
The Original battery never showed "charged" (a steady battery icon) no matter how long I had it plugged in.
On the "szhkhaoba" battery I only had about a 4-5 hour battery life, I will report back how the energizer works.

The Energizer 8.4v 175mah Rechargeable should be a good battery than "szhkhaoba" battery.

Turn on the Power Saving mode to extend the battery running time.

I just installed a new Energizer 9V1 175 mAh today. Evidently they are pre-charged because when I turned the unit on it showed a full charge. Heh...was gonna say I didn't trust the Chinese, factory-supplied battery (I don't) and wanted an American one. LOL...the Energizer is also made in China.

Dan: On the question "Does it charge the battery when it the unit is off?", I am guessing yes. Only way to make sure is put a low battery in it and hook it to the USB and geiger with the geiger off and wait about 4-5 hours. If it is charging, it should be fully charged by then.
One of my upgrade requests on another thread is a visible charging meter when the unit is turned off. Should be a software upgrade I would think.

Yes. The GMC-300(E) charges battery when the unit is off.
