I ordered one of these thinking that my order would be placed on hold for the new 300 series. I seem to have received the old GQ-300. Does anyone know the physical differences so I can learn if I was sent an old or updated GQ-300. Thank you!

The only thing between "new" and "old" GMC-300 is the firmware version.

The latest firmware version is 2.3X. If you received a Re2.30 or later, then it is the updated GMC-300. It is "new".

you have to send it back for the update. But as I know most of GMC-300 firmware do now need to update. And most of changes in firmware can be done from the user menu settings.

Could you tell us the changes? It's not convenient for me to send it back, because shipping to US is very expensive. Maybe there are alternative methods? If you share firmware I can try to update it myself.

If your version is later than Re2.20, then you do not have to upgrade. All later fixes can be done from user menu. Like calibration, default backlight timeout value etc.
