I was perusing the youtube the other day and found this character, Anti-Proton.
He has great suggestions for us aspiring radiation detectives. Take 13 minutes to watch this video. His other vids are great too! Watch and learn a good scientific method for detecting radiation. Cheers!

The guy has a website now. Pretty informative on this whole radiation thing..
Of note, is that the conversion from CPM to whatever unit you desire (uSv, Rad, Ret) is totally based on the energy emitted from the source.
So, you can't say that something is X uSv when you don't know what "it" is. You must know the energy emitted before calculating the unit of measurement.
Basically, don't go off what the program says for units of measure.
USE CPM FOR ANY READINGS YOU PUBLISH.
