Posted - 10/22/2017 : 09:58:18 Is anybody else finding that settings their unit to update to GMCMAP with a period of 5 minutes or longer just results in no values ever being sent?
If I bring up the WiFi status page on my router I can see that the WiFi connection gets severed before the 5 minutes is up. Other devices can stay connected for hours with no activity.
Weirdly when the update period is set lower I see that the device is reconnecting every time it sends data, in that the time connected is shown going back to zero on my router. So it looks like GQ know that the WiFi disconnected itself after a while but botched the reconnection code in some way so that it only reconnects if it's already connected but can't actually reconnect if it has disconnected!!
A few minutes testing after writing the code would have been a good idea.
Are firmware updates even possible on these GMC-xxx counters? |

Posted - 01/18/2018 : 01:20:57 I have the same issue here. Maximum working period is 3 min. I use GMC-500+ with Re1.08. Support told me this version is 'fine'. So I guess there is no newer firmware version. Am I wrong? |

I did immediatedly but got no answer since. Maybe the support forgot to answer.
So if anyone from GQ is reading this, please contact me. You should see my adress, as I use it for this forum.

I have many devices permanently connected to WiFi, so I am sure it is not my WiFi going to sleep. The revision of my affected device is Re 1.04. The used access point is an Ubiquiti UAP-AC-PRO (AC capable but restricted to running 2,4GHz only - latest firmware installed).

What is your GMC-500 firmware version?
To check version, from main menu->About->Revision
Re 1.08
EDIT: Also please try 10 minutes, maybe whatever is timing out does it after a rather indeterminate time that varies from unit to unit. |
