Hey all,
I am using my brand new GMC 600 and the GMC Data viewer, and I am seeing an odd discrepancy between my device and what is being displayed on my desktop client. For example:
device: 26 CPM client: 29 CPM
Device: 0.067 client: 0.167
zoom set at x.05
Also, if anyone would be willing to explain to me what the "zoom" is, It'd be appreciated! |

Just a side note: Using realtime monitoring doesn't read counter's data as it's shown on screen, rather it would start counting on its own, by being measuring counts per second (CPS). The device sends to PC the detected CPS in each second.
Zoom is for counting graph magnification, for normal backround radiation X2-X10 should be fine, however if you measure high counts per second, like for instance 10,000 CPM or more you problably like to shrink graph to fit on screen. |

My 600+ and the viewer read more or less the same CPM but the uSv/h are very different,sometimes nearly double. 600 = 0.229 viewer = 0.384 600 = 0.163 viewer = 0.241 600 = 0.154 viewer = 0.357 600 = 0.180 viewer = 0.410 600 = 0.143 viewer = 0.331 definitely not linear.
viewer is 2.57 600+ is 2.07
whats up ? |

Hi paul, you need to make sure the calibration in the viewer is the same as in the device. You need to read calibration from your 600+.
Edit: Viewer calibration is under Settings->Terminal |
