No, if you purchased from GQ Electronics.

The used item from other supplier is depending on that seller.

A contaminated counter would be unusual and unexpected from any source. Is your question due to unusual readings from one counter in particular? Some of us hobbyist types verify our counters by using a known source and comparing close/far readings. Known sources include Uranium glass dishes or beads, Fiestaware dishes, or breaking open a smoke detector that uses Americium. A second detector can also be used to compare against. Sometimes failing GM tubes give high readings.
