Hi, I bought a GMC-320 Plus Re 3.24. I tried to make a long measurment on my last flight. But the battery even did not hold for the planned 3 days. But the worst thing is, that no data are stored! All measured data are deleted while running out of power.
I tried it several times: 1 factory reset 2 disabled motion detect 3 disabled alarm 4 disabled speaker 5 Save Data - every second
or 5 Save Data - every minute
I used the GQ GMC Data Viewer 2.07 to download the data from the device after some time ... everything looked fine. I see CPM values from 8 up to 30. But then I let the device run out of power (I did not switched the device off. The device just switched into economy mode.) When I connect the device to the usb port it restarts but all data seems to be deleted. Only my settings and date and time are still correct. Is this the normal behaving? Does it used a battery powered RAM?
I hope someone can help me.
Best, Thomas |

No. The low battery does not erase the data.
The following actions erase the data: 1. Factory reset 2. Erase Saved Data from menu
Both operations have 10 seconds confirmation times to let user to confirm it is a intended operation.
Before you start a long period data log task, the following steps are recommended:
1. Do a Erase Saved Data OR Factory reset. This is to make sure to start a fresh logging session correctly. 2. Set data saving mode to Every Second. 3. verify the time and date are correct.
Once the data logging started, DO NOT DO "Erase" OR "Factory Reset" operations. until you downloaded saved data.
You still can turn the unit off during the data logging task. The data logging session will be resumed on next power on.
Recharge the battery if you want to take super long period data logging.
You even can turn off the data saving from the menu, the previous saved data will not be affected.
To save the power, followings are the optional operations:
1 disabled motion detect 2 disabled alarm 3 disabled speaker
All other operations should not erase the saved data.

Ok, then I am sure that my device doesn't work correct. I did not delete any data manualy.
Has anyone any experiences with broken devices getting repaired? I am located in Germany. I guess it will be a costly experience.
I bought the GMC320 plus just 2 month ago. |
