I have the wall adapter plugged in, both red and green lights are lit on that, will the red clear once charged? What should I adjust the voltage level for if say I want to take radiation level readings on my car that I drive through steam from a nuclear power plant? I really do drive through the steam when the wind blows road side Thanks guys

The green LED indicates the connection is good between wall adapter and the GMC-300. The red LED shows the adapter is working.
The only battery status is the battery icon on the GMC-300 screen. See GMC-300 user guide. If the battery is fully charged, the batery icon will stop animation and stay in a solid black color.
You do not need to adjust anything when you measuring radiation. You just need to see if the CPM reading changes.
A stable reading should take a few minutes since the radiation level is calculated based on the Count Per Minute(CPM) value.
If you in a car and drive through a nuclear power plant less than a minute, then you may not be able see much changes. You may leave the Geiger Counter at the testing spot for a few minuts and then see if the CPM changed. |

I sincerely hope the plant isn't letting anything out with the steam from the stack. Assuming that's one of the large flared top, Simpson's TV show like, evaporation towers. Those shouldn't even carry the heavy water loop through them. The steam should be from the pond/lake/river/ocean water they use as the final heat exchanging, and not be radioactive. If it's steam from any other towers on a Nuc plant, looking more like an oil refinery tower, then I'd be really worried. My 2c. |

Hey ZLM, is the GMC-300 being charged while connected to the USB port of the computer? I note that the charger adapters for both AC and DC output the same 5volts into the rechargeable battery.... reason I asked is there might be no need to bring a charger along if my netbook/laptop is always handy to charge it anyway..... |

Yes. While the GMC-300 connected to the computer USB port, the batter is charged at same time.
The wall charger and the car charger are not needed if you connect the GMC-300 to a computer USB port. |
