Hello everyone,

I recently got a GMC 600+ and it's a cool device. I've been researching it and one thing i don't understand. What happens if you change tube voltage? Does it detect better or worse?

Read about the "Geiger Plateau", e.g here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geiger%E2%80%93M%C3%BCller_tube

Beyond the left of the left end you may not get any counts at all. Beyond the right of the right end you may destroy your tube (it turns into a 'fluorescent lighting tube').

Increasing voltage within the plateau region increases the count rate slightly. One should select a voltage near the middle of the plateau. But it is not very critical (within the plateau region).
