Hello everyone new user from UK.
Pleased to receive my new 600+ from USA very quick delivery.
Nice unit, heavier than I thought but build quality seems very good.
only had one other counter a radgem2 (thing just with leds) so not really a Radiation hobbyist just interested in things.
Anyway on receiving this and just now setting it up.
so far so good. Could do with a better set-up guide. but think I have managed to get it connected to the map.
First observation was it seems to be reading high when I look at the map numbers are fairly low being around 20.
I am regularly around 50 counts. but looking at the map i can see that others with the 600+ are reporting around the same.
Is the 600+ just more sensitive (as its alpha detecting also)
my house bricks are 100+ CPM

Hi Livewire, where did you buy your 600+ in the US? Were there any import duties etc?

Hi livewire, the GMC600+ is more sensitive that is why the background readings are higher.
