I have GMC500 NW of Melbourne Australia. Its been online for about 5 years. On 26March2023 I had a 10+Million CPM count. Coincidentally my region has been getting extreme Auroras.
?,, could this be a real reading or is it more likely a machine fault.
The unit has been stable at an average count 60+-2CPM for the past several years so the big hit is interesting.
If I am not mistaken then the coulmn headings are:
CPM ACPM uSv/h
The uSv/h data are the same a CPM data, except for a factor of 153 (= tube sensitivity), e.g.: 56 / 154 = 0.36
It does seem mathematically impossible that ACPM - the avarage of CPM - is orders of magnitude higher than the CPM average. And it is equally impossible that the average rises from 58.62 to 10 million in a single record within 6 sec.
Thus a counter defect. Also possible: a server defect
