Regarding the fold-back effect: Are very high dose rates above the range of the Si-3BG tube distinguishable from dose rates within the range of both tubes?

You can check here the max readings for GMC-500+.
http://www.gqelectronicsllc.com/support/GMC_Selection_Guide.htm

If you see any higher readings, then tube may have been saturated or passed the peak value.
