Hi, I just received my new 5200 unit from MCUMall.

The hot air seems to be working well, but the temperature display for the Iron can only be described as "glitchy".

Example: I set the iron temp to 370C, turn off the unit for a few minutes. When I turn it back on, the display shows 503C, and will not change even if I play with the Iron temperature adjustments. However, if I slap the top of the unit, the temperature display will gradually come back down to 370C.

Example 2: Sometimes, if I set the temp adjustment to the lowest setting, and then I turn it up, the Iron temperature display will climb, but continually flash "503C" and come back to the real temperature.

Looks like there is a short, or bad solder joint somewhere. Have you ever seen this type of behavior? Is there anything I can do?

It seems the temperture sensor has contacting problem.

Check the connector first. Make sure your iron connector is clean and well connected.

If it is not a problem, then you may need to check internal connector on PCB, reconnect it then.
