Hi,

I have a GQ-5200 rework station, but the soldering iron pencil broke a while back and was unrepairable. I’d like to know if I can buy an iron replacement compatible with the station, or if I should just buy a good Weller iron.

I am in Canada, if that can be buy, where can I get this?

I’m open to a better quality pencil to prevent the same end.

Thank you

Hi Jamon, you can find them online like ebay. There are a lot of compatible soldering irons.

I've been looking at eBay already, but how do I figure out if it is compatible or not? I find a lot of soldering iron replacement for other models, but none specifically for mine.

See a few examples of what I can find on eBay :

https://www.cafr.ebay.ca/itm/393194051898

https://www.cafr.ebay.ca/itm/223774075870

They all look similar, but nothing says if they are compatible. And i cannot find any with the description specifically for my station.

Thank you.

I contacted the vendor on one auction to ask if he could confirm the compatibility or the pinout of the soldering iron, but they are unwilling to commit or provides me any details!!

I’m trying to find some information on one of the soldering station mentioned in the ad, but that is not easy at all.

I hope you find some info. 24V should be ok but need to make sure the pinout is compatible.
