What is the range? Do we have the ability to read that? How is it done

The "Low" range of 5G is sub 6Ghz, while the "wide" or higher band are in 28 and 39 GHz range or higher. The EMF-390 can detect the sub 6GHz range. However, it will not be able to differentiate it from other signals unless the only source is 5G.
