just wondering what the maximum RF power readings on the emf pro 390 are ?
I have just got some readings of 34,419.45 mW/m2 repeated on 4 separate occasions so am I correct to guess this is the max this device will read to?

Thank you for the respomse curve. I assume this is the RF, W/m^2, error. Is this correct??? If so, it's surprising to see that the EMF-390 is more accurate than the $10,000.00 Signalhawk (without antenna) and much more accurate than the EMF-390 RF specification. Thanks, James B

Hello EmfDev The +-10dB accuracy @ 0.01 to 10GHz was placed in the most recent update. I my opinion, it is impossible to have a RF accuracy of +-15% from 0.01 to 10GHZ and sell it at the price your selling the GQ EMF-390. If you do NOT know the accuracy, then say so. If you insist that the RF accuracy is +-15%, show use the meters response curves as measured in your lab. Even the $20,000 laboratory meters can't meet a +-15% from 0.01-10GHz. Hello EmfDev I have seen you refer to the EMF-390 RF accuracy as +-15%. The user guide spec shows the RF accuracy to be +-10 dB (0.01-10GHz). Please explain this in detail. Thanks, James B |

Posted - 07/25/2022 : 09:11:55 Yes a cellphone or WiFi can produce such signals. Sometimes when the cell phone is far from the cell tower or is disconnected, it will need a stronger signal to connect / communicate. |

Posted - 07/20/2022 : 05:53:45 Yes it is strange as it just jumps to the max reading without ever showing any readings over 1000 mW/m2.
Im not sure what to consider this reading as. Should I think it's hitting 9999mW/m2 (and just giving a reading at max) or should I take the 34000mW/m2 as accurate?
Since it jumps from 45mW/m2 straight to the 34000 mark Im unsure how to consider this.
Either way it is a bit worrying.
No there are no smart meters in my home, and the reader is being placed at the rear of my home, inside a room with no electronics on.
Ive taken hundreds of hours of readings around my home over the past months ( and previous max reading was 250mW/m2 but it is just since Ive started measuring this new area Ive seen these readings constantly pop up.
Would a cell phone tower/ sting ray IMSI catcher device be able to pump out this amount of RF?
Appreciate the replies btw.

These readings are occuring on a wall in my sitting room, adjacent to a neighbours home, but behind a few feet of concrete wall, there are no routers or smart meters of phones in the room. I had actually been taking readings from another wall opposite this one, in the same room for weeks before placing the reader in this new position. I have also taken hundreds of readings from all over the house. The maximum reading I've seen in the 5 months or so from anywhere else in my home was 250mW/m2 and I thought that was high!
The readings seem to jump from a low number of about 1-6 mW/m2 straight to the 34000mWm2 figure , and never even show any readings of note between these lower numbers and the high point in the readings, just goes straight to the 34000 mark.
Im not sure what to consider this reading, should i presume this reading is 9999 mW/m2 or is it actually reaching the 34000 mark?
Heres the image file of these, the peaks dont show but i presume this is becaus ethe graph software most likely uses averages over a certain time period and hence doesnt show the 34000 mark , each spkile represents a 34000 reading though .
Here is a snapshot from the excel export showing the end of over 467 readings of 34000 and then to more normal-ish figures. I sorted the readings from high to low in this pic.

Is there any estimate of how accurate/ inaccurate these readings can be over 9999 mW/m2?
I presume that because I've hit the max reading the actual real reading could be far higher which is a bit strange.
It hit this max level 400 times in a 5 hour period during the week.
Can I ask if this is unusual for a home?
What can possiblly cause these high readings, the highest reading I even encountered before here was 250mW/m2 in the past 6 months or so of taking measurements everyday.
I dont seem to even get readings this high close to mobile phone masts, so am perplexed.
