Posted - 08/01/2020 : 08:30:43 Hello to all fans and owners of the GQ EMF gadget!
After studying the specified device, I want to say that the best gadget for measuring fields I did not see.
For a better understanding of the principle of operation of the multifunctional detector EMF-390V2 I want to offer you some information. This is the table I created. It shows in detail and very simply in what operating modes the meter uses its detectors.
I would like to draw your attention to the fact that NOT all detectors provide information about the signal frequency, but ALL detectors provide information about the signal level. This must be taken into account when using the device and making measurements.
This table is completely correct also for the EMF-380V2 meter, except for the difference in the upper limit of detection of radio signals broadband logarithmic detector up to 8 GHz.
I hope my information will be useful to users. All good mood and success in using the device,
Vitaly
P.S. here is the link to the table in original quality in the cloud storage

P.S. if I made some mistakes, then let the authors of the device correct me. |

Very good points. I do pick up the signals from local AM stations, but they are surprisingly weak. There is a jack on the side of the unit. In early models I believe it was designed for an external antenna. But they changed to a headphone jack. Maybe EMFDev can enlighten us on that.
Indeed, this EMF-RF meter provides the ability to use the side round connector to connect an external antenna, which is connected to the internal antenna of the 50 MHz to 115 MHz range through the capacitor "C48" on the motherboard (this capacitor is absent on my motherboard).
However, as I reported earlier, the chip used does not effectively receive true RF signals below 50 MHz. For this reason, your AM signal levels are very low, and most likely at the noise level.
My device uses a round side connector for headphones.
P.S. Perhaps in the future, this is my personal opinion, the developers of the device will add the ability to measure permanent magnetic fields and this round connector will be used to connect an external detector of the "Hall-sensor"

Bill D., thank you very much for your positive assessment of my humble work!
I'm not sure if the hardware capabilities of EMF-390 (EMF-380) allow effective reception of true radio signals of such a low radio frequency.
The radio receiver chips used in the EMF-390 device, according to their technical description, are designed only for receiving radio signals starting from 50 MHz.
In addition, for efficient reception of low-frequency radio signals external antennas of large sizes are needed (many times larger than the size of the device) or internal ferrite antennas with large coils.
Unfortunately, no software can change this situation for the better.
I think this is the main reason why the developers refused from receiving radio signals below 50 MHz in the next revisions of this meter. |

Thanks for your attention and help, EmfDev
But I tried editing my post and pasting an image, but the image is missing. Can you clarify what is the correct size and what is the correct format for the image? |
