Posted - 12/02/2022 : 11:38:32 Hello,
I thought the EMF-390 was accurate since I also own a Cornet 88 that shows similar values but then I bought a Safe and Sound Pro II, much more expensive but also much more sensitive. Most of time the RF values are doubled on the Safe and Sound and they are instantaneous (several measurements per second). How do you account for such discrepancies?
For instance 0.2v/m on EMF-390 vs 0.4v/m on S&S.
It’s frightening because I don’t know which one to trust.
What’s the accuracy range on the EMF-390? It’s 6dB on Safe and Sound.
Thanks,
Jo |

Agradezco la información para compra. hay uno de ello que tiene cupon. en todo caso como puedo obtener un cupon de descuento |

Even TF2 Manufacturer had confirmed that EMF and EF readings are close with the EMF-390 and TF2. |

Hello, here is what I found on their website:
« This meter is a 3rd party certified RF detector with effective measurement range of 200 MHz to 8 GHz, true response detection range 400 MHz to 7.2 GHz (+/- 6dB). »
What does that mean? Is it similar to the EMF-390 and how can I efficiently compare both?
Thanks!
Hello Jo
The +/- 6dB is the accuracy of the Safe and Sound. This gives you an error 0.25 times the true value to 4 times the true value for RF between 400 MHz and 7.2 GHz. For example, if the true RF was 100 mW/m2 the Safe and Sound would display a value between 25 mW/m2 and 400 mW/m2. Across it's entire RF range of 200 MHz to 8 GHz, the error would be larger, possibly +/-10dB or 0.1 times the true value to 10 times the true value. The EMF 390 is specified from 10MHz to 10 GHz (+/-10dB). Here, for a true RF of 100 mW/m2, the EMF 390 would indicate 10 mW/m2 to 1000 mW/m2. For RF powers between 400 MHz and 7.2 MHz, the EMF 390 may be as accurate or more accurate than the Safe and Sound.

Posted - 12/05/2022 : 11:34:07 What about the max mW/m2 that it can measure? The EMF-390 is from 10MHz to 10GHz. You can just use some sources to check readings like wifi router or microwave. it will be hard to compare of course since RF is not constant. Unless you have a walkie-talkie (generates constant RF) or anything that can generate constant RF. And not pulsing. |

Posted - 12/05/2022 : 10:50:46 Hi Jo, what is the range of the safe & sound pro II? Since 2 of the meters measure in similar range, it may be the S&S increased their readings to make it look more sensitive. You can also easily adjust the readings on EMF 390 by changing the RF gain in the settings. |
