I got it directly from Ukraine on eBay via a coin collector living northeast of Kiev, almost due East from Chernobyl itself, so the coin had spent it's entire life in a fairly close range to Chernobyl. I wasn't expecting it to be hot, and it wasn't, I just thought it was an interesting thing to check. The pictured level is the highest reading I got from it, putting the base of the unit in direct contact with the coin after removing it from the plastic protector didn't produce any higher counts. (Excuse the bright backlight, it was still on factory default, level 8 I believe.)
