Posted - 09/14/2012 : 10:52:28 ska, I have a GMC300 I bought a few months ago with the Russian SBT9 tube installed by GQ in perfect shape so it can pick up Alpha/Beta/Gamma. Comes with everything you need including the replaced M4011 tube. I spent well over $300 total for all of it including the recal that was done the right way. I'm going to post it up for sale tonite ot tomorrow for $245 (includes shipping). What I did to get that price was to see how much everything is going for now as to not rip anyone off. ZLM will remember me. I just don't need it anymore and has only been used est 50 times for a few minutes at a time. |

Posted - 09/12/2012 : 20:42:42 After looking at the HV in the GMC-300, it looks like it needs an extra multiplier stage to get up to the 900V that a pancake probe needs to operate. Before I do that though, I wanted to know what U5 is (on the low-side detector circuit between C9 & C26). I'm afraid of blowing it up if I go up to a 900V GM tube.
Thanks again for all of your help! |

Posted - 09/08/2012 : 20:11:35 The GMC-300 HV is able to provide up to 700~800V tube voltage. This voltage works on most of tubes. There is a adjust potentiometer for the voltage adjustment. |
