When I use 'GQ GMC Data Viwer' to download the data of gmc300, the system will be halted and shut down at the end of download. This happens at 80-90% of the time when I click "Download". Actually the system crashing is not a big problem, but the problem is the data in the unit will partially or completely lost! I have tried factory reset several times but it still can't work normally.

When the system halted happens, I will get the data looks weird like this

8/18/2012 10:58 Every Minute 4
8/18/2012 10:59 Every Minute 170
8/18/2012 11:00 Every Minute 0
8/18/2012 11:01 Every Minute 12
8/18/2012 11:02 Every Minute 8
8/18/2012 11:03 Every Minute 18
8/18/2012 11:04 Every Minute 11
8/18/2012 11:05 Every Minute 4
8/18/2012 11:06 Every Minute 107
8/18/2012 11:07 Every Minute 85
8/18/2012 11:08 Every Minute 170
8/18/2012 11:09 Every Minute 2
8/18/2012 11:10 Every Minute 12

There are also some bugs with the Data Viwer software, so I don't where the problem is.
I have just got this unit for two days and was little disappointed with this unstable system.

Also the data in the internal flash is completely lost. I have tried three different USB cables.
While downloading the data, the progress is not stable: sometimes percent may jump back several times.
I guess this is the result of some failure in the protocol while reading from COM port.

Under Windows XP 32-bit it works fine.

Also i have noticed that factory reset fills the internal memory with values of 255 but not with zeros.
So in the historical data you will see X,Y,Z,255,255,255,255,255,255,etc... where X,Y,Z are correct historical values.
Also ACPM value will be incorrect.

I tried on a Windows XP 32-bit computer but it still can't work well. So, I contacted the customer service and hope they can solve this

Thanks for you guys giving me these information.

I have tried the "data viewer" software on both my laptop and desktop with several different USB cables but it still can't works well.

I also use a Win 7 X64 system, and I quite agree with and_kom. I will try on a win7 X86 system to make sure is the problem of the driver for X64.

The data is not correct.

I believe it happens only on this particular unit or computer. No other users got this problem.

The data seems not correctly downloaded. It could be any of followings:

1. The computer is not working good with the USB-serial communication. Try on another computer will confirm this if the problem goes away.
2. The USB cable is not good. Try another usb cable if you can find one.
3. The unit itself has some problem. In this case you need to get a replacement.

Contact support@gqelectronicsllc.com for the replacement.
