Hello,

I was several time woke up in the middle of the night by the frightening dosimeter alarm. The first time it happened it was quite horrible and stressful to be honest, the second time was just very annoying and now I have to keep reminding myself to reset the dosimeter count regularly...

This is really annoying.

What I do not understand is why does the exposition counter increases under "normal" non-dangerous radiation level. This is not useful at all, it should only start counting above a certain threshold.

Is there any way to disable the dosimeter feature when we do not want to use it?

My device is a GMC-500+ rev.2.37, maybe there is a firmware update for this?

I can confirm this is very annoying to remember to reset dosimeter from time to time.
The first time I wasn't home when the dosimeter alarm went off. My wife almost ran to the shelter because she didn't know what was happening.
We need an option to:
1. Turn on/off the dosimeter alarm or alternatively
2. A new option to automatically reset the dosimeter counter every few weeks, months, etc.
Today, we have to remember to reset the dosimeter every few weeks or months, so as not to scare the household members unnecessarily again by false alarm.
Proposal to change the alarm threshold to 10000000 (500days) is not a solution to this issue.

I agree with GBG12 - having to manually reset the dosimeter on any period is annoying. I leave my GMC-600+ permanently doing readings and the alarm is annoying, Could there be an option to disable the dosimeter mode/alarm?

So the design seems to be 'alarm the user every year and a half if there is only background radiation'? I agree there should be threshold before it accumulates counts.

Indeed, now it tells me 516 days left until the 10000000 count is reached.

The alarm should be higher with the new update.

Thanks for sending me the updater, I've just successfully updated my device and all went fine.
However I've not seen any difference in the Dosimeter settings, the counter is till increasing while I'm at an average of 13 CPM. Are there new options available that I've not seen?

Thanks for getting back to me, I've sent you an email just now.
