Posted - 03/20/2024 : 06:23:00 I have noticed that when exposed to my uranium ore source my GMC500+ will read a constant 290 cpm but every ~68.8 seconds the count will jump up to ~450 cpm for a second or two it will also sometimes jump down to ~150 cpm anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it? |

Posted - 03/25/2024 : 10:02:38 The algorithm for previous revisions made the FET more sensitive to changes in CPS. It is still very useful for users who want to get fast measurements. |

@Emfdev: Do I read this right, you have just stated that FET is creating false data?
Oh, man, I am preaching this for eons, though find deaf ears only. But now you are confirming!
Do your customers a favor and have this ill-conceived "feature" removed from the firmware ASAP!!!
To all users: set FET to 60 in order to have it switched off. |

Posted - 03/21/2024 : 01:45:28 This looks very much like a defective counter.
Can you post screenshots of what a logging of data shows when you record a) background b) your uranium about some 10 cm away from the counter c) your uranium as close to the counter as possible (perhaps with back plate of counter removed)
Posting logging data is also welcome; you can post data files here: https://sourceforge.net/p/geigerlog/discussion/easyuploads/
