I am unable to enter a long password in the screen of the GMC-500Plus.

What's the secret? Toss it and buy a different model? (Because I'm about to)

I've become more interested since I live near Lawrence Livermore Labs and Sandia Labs, and it's been alerting frequently lately.

Entering long text at the GMC counter screens is awful. I suggest to use GeigerLog, enter the pw at your keyboard, and upload to your counter.

Probably you are using an old software (finding the latest here in not easy), and/or using an old firmware of your device. Try to insert it in the device itself not through software
