I see the menu option for a rechargeable or non-rechargeable battery.

If I want to use a non-chargeable, what type should I use, and what sort of life might I expect from it?

Any 3.7V AA size none rechargeable battery will work.

Example:

Saft LS-14500 AA 3.6V Lithium Batteries
Expocell ER14505 AA Non-Rechargeable Lithium Battery
