PIN diodes are semiconductor devices, which can be used as radioactivity sensing elements in Geiger counter like devices.
I implemented two of those devices, a SGP-001 and an GDK-101 device, in GeigerLog, and have just uploaded a review to my Articles section: https://sourceforge.net/projects/geigerlog/files/Articles/ "GeigerLog-Review PIN Diode Geiger Counters"
They do work as expected. But their Achilles heel is their low sensitivity to radiation, more than 10fold lower even for good devices, compared to low-cost Geiger-Müller tube devices.
GQ will be delighted to hear that most people will be better off purchasing a classic, Geiger-Müller tube based counter, than a PIN diode counter ;-)
How did you get the data out of the phone app? Software I have doesn't export. Ah, read the review. You are using an audio input to Geigerlog for the SGP-001. Thanks for the review. The phone app software gives some information but needs work.
