I had an opportunity to examine two GMC-320 (V4) counters. Both of them have J305 tubes according to labels. However, one tube is long, other one is short. See attached photo. Do you expect any difference in performance?

Interesting that different size tubes get the same identifier; does not speak for the manufacturer!
A bigger size tube will have bigger volume and bigger inner surface. Both are relevant for count creation under certain scenarios, so bigger generally will get more counts.
You can try to run the two counter side-by-side and look for differences. Unfortunately, in the end it may not mean much as manufacturing differences in properties of the tube, plus the uncertainty about the anode-voltage in each counter, plus the uncertainty about slight electronic differences (count detection) may not allow any conclusion :-(

Heu.... +/-15% ?
ok not look like same manufacturer. funny business
EDIT: no need to look for the specifications of this tube, there cannot be any. |
