The materials scientist working downstairs at work was very excited when I told him I bought this geiger counter, and wanted to put it on the industrial x-ray machine.
The GMC-320 went absolutely bonkers when hit with the x-ray beam. It made almost white noise from all the counts and started beeping an alarm warning me of dangerous radiation.
It also showed us that the electron microscope and x-ray machine are not leaking any radiation, which made the scientist feel good. With all the equipment he has, it's surprising he doesn't have one of these. |
