Hi , I own a GMC 300, and I used it to test one of a car from Japan, i placed it in the car, the CPM value went up to 36 max, and on average it’s about 28, is that ok or been polluted? Thanks

Hi, 28 is not an abnormal value, background CPM here (north France) varies from 15 to 35 naturally.

What kind of a car? Were all the parts made in Japan? Is the radiation higher in the front? back? or in the trunk? The information coming from ENENEWS does look very good for Japan and now the water is radioactive. What Year is the car?

The car was imported by a secondhand car dealer from Japan after the quake. it is very hard to tell which part is higher, the reading(28avg) is higher than other places(20 avg).

28 CPM is no big deal. Dust can be naturally slightly more radioactive as it attracts radon daughters. I would not worry at all for 28 CPM but if it can make you feel better, you could swipe/wash all plastic furnitures inside the vehicle to be sure to remove any dust.
