Hi,
A particular feature I am looking for is a way to get counts out in real time. A single character could be output on the serial port, for example 'c'. It could be activated in a similar way to the heartbeat feature.

Currently if I want to do this, I can of course use a photodiode with the LED or attach wires to the LED lines, but with the serial port already there... Anyhow please consider this for the future.

Thanks.

You can use the Audio output to soundcard and have the described function.
