I just purchased the GMC320Plus and noticed something I don't see in the manual. I was checking my mineral collection when I came upon a particularly active specimen and noticed the LED changed to red. Is this a random event or is it a warning device?

Yes it does change when the CPM meets a threshold.

I think I answered my own question. It seems to change at 50 CPM.
