Hello,
I'm going to buy a few extra batteries for the 300E+
I'll be buying them from IMRBatteries because I trust them.

I can get Protected or unprotected 14500 batteries and I'm not sure which would be better for this device.

But I need to know a bit about the charging system of the 300E+
Specifically....

Does the unit turn itself off when the battery level drops to a certain voltage and if so, what is that cutoff voltage?

All GQ GMC Geiger counters has built in protected charging circuit. It accepts both protected and not protected batteries.

As long as it is 3.7V Li-ion rechargeable batteries, they will work.
