I have several older GM-300 units and a newer GM-300E. My problem is with the GM-300E, specifically the inability to extract the data. I am using the GM data viewer ver 2.03. The GM-300 data transfers from the detector to the computer just fine. The GM-300E appears to connect ok (e.g., same message com3 opened successfully), but when downloading I get a message "There are som unsynched communication. Check the unit communication baud setting. You may need to restart/reconnect the unit and download again."

I have tried several baud settings (i.e., 9600, 8 N 1 and 57600 8 N 1) which work for the GM-300, but none work for the GM-300E. I've tried using the device manager and the GM data viewer to get consistent baud settings - the transfers with the GM-300 occur just fine, but not with the GM-300E.

Help!

There must have been some corrupt data. I did the factory reset as suggested and did a brief test. With the com port (#3) set at 57600 8N1 I was able to successfully extract the data. Thank you!

PS These devices are a great value.

The GMC-300E uses fix baud rate: 57600 BPS. 9600 does not work.

If you always get this message, then your GMC-300E internal flash memory may have some corrupted data. Do a factory reset will erase the flash data and restart again. That should solve the problem.
