What is the GMC-300 calibrated to pick up? Which isotope? What should I buy to make sure it is calibrated?

The CPM reading you do not need to calibrate. It is all done in factory. Unless you changed the tube.

The GMC-300 uSv/h factory calibration is for the regular usage. If you only use it in regular such as in-door and out-door measuring, then you do not need to calibration too. Anyway, use the CPM reading should be good idea.

If you need use GMC-300 on a specific testing, or you want to testing a specific ray, eg. Beta only OR Gamma only, then you do need recalibrate the unit with a standard radioactive source.
