Thanks as always for helping me. I'm getting readings back from parts of the house. (levels posted below)

~Are these levels a bit high anywhere? Is the Quartz level high? The unit was beeping at it

Living room
15 CPM .05 uSv/h total count 255

Kitchen air and sink water avg
19 CPM .05 uSv/h


Upstairs bedroom

Sunroom with slate floor

4 minutes in basement on rock wall= avg was 72 CPM @ 0.17 uSv/h
Avg 65 to 95 CPM after 12am with spike to 109 CPM for few seconds

There was a spike of 664 CPM for 10 seconds @ 11:07 pm (heater on at 11p)

The "Total count" may not much meaningfull if the testings done not in exact same time length.

Also, to get ride of random testing result, repeat testing two or three times will help to get a consistant testing result. Turn off the geiger counter for 1~3 minutes between each testing.

Spiked value does not say anything, The most importand value is average CPM.

From your testing I can see there are 2~3 testings has higher radiation level, but they may still in a safe range:

1. 13lb Quartz point (from a village in China) CPM 116

2. basement on rock wall= avg was 72 CPM

3. Her coat hood 91 CPM


Repeat the testing and get consistant average CPM reading.

Quartz is kind of stone. Many stones has higher level radiation.

The good news is your Living room and Upstairs bedroom are very normal.
