Hi, I have just purchased my new toy and have 3 questions if anyone wouldn't mind?

1) Is my GMC-300 Geiger counter safe enough to let sit in my bedroom when not in use? Is it dangerous in the sense of contamination or bad for health? I assume its isolated and no need to worry, but wanted to make sure.

2) safe to store in a basement that has a slightly above avg radon in it? Would that contaminate the unit?

3)Should I not touch any surface with it when taking reading?

Thanks for any help

Thanks ZLM I got this counter for a few reasons, I'll paste the data results of what I find and where the levels were taken after I install the data viewer

1. The GMC-300 is safe to install it in the bedroom. It is a radiation detector and it has no radiation at all. It just works like a smoke detector. The smoke detector can detect the smoke, but it has no smoke at all from itself.
2. It can store in anywhere, but do not get it to be wet. Install it in the basement, and check the reading regularly, then you can see if the radon level changes.
3. Touch a target surface does not affect the reading. But I recommend you to get reading before you touch the surface. Just in case of the surface has higher radiation.
