Posted - 12/08/2011 : 11:45:20 I'm new to this and am looking at these two options. Could you lease assist me with advise. Price is not an option but I'm looking for as much of an accurate reading as possible.
Purchase option 1: The GQ GMC080 Geiger Counter Kit Nuclear Radiation detector along with the Geiger Muller Counter Tube M4011 High Sensitivity Alpha Beta Radiation Detection and assembling it myself.
Purchase option 2: The GMC200 Geiger Muller Counter Nuclear Radiation Detector and not have to assemble anything.
Are any of these two options better then the other? Will the GMC200 allow me to change out the counter tube for the M4011 if i chose to down the road? Do any of these two options detect Alpha?

Posted - 12/15/2011 : 10:36:37 GMC-200 comes with software. You can read the count from software. But GMC-80 without software in package.
Both units and M4011 are not designed for detecting Alpha.
If you want to detect the Alpha, then you need to install your own Alpha tube.
But some user reported the M4011 can detect some Alpha. This is not offically been confirmed.
