Posted - 07/22/2011 : 13:12:44 I understand I need to calibrate the software.
Will a smoke detector work for this?
More detail on software calibration would be helpfull.
Does the device itself need calibrating or is it precalibrated?
A note about keeping the device in a plastic bag, to keep from contaminating the device, would help others.
About how long for first time battery charge?
I thank you for making this affordable for those that want to know.

I'm seconding that. Using Windows XP PRO, I noticed nothing seems to be wrote within registry. Consequently, my 3 registration keys were unsuccessful until I finally got the dreaded "over registration limit" message... And the software is still unregistered.
Thanks for any help jm jacquart, GMC-200 kit
PS. I almost forgot to share this information: GMT02 G/M Tube looks pretty sensitive to direct sunlight and should only be used in a very dark environment. Has the thinnest sun ray enter the box to literally panic GMT02 tube so I had to seal any box hole (led, power, output, speaker) with black electrician tape. Foremost, the unit is working fine and is very sensitive. Thank you :)

Posted - 07/25/2011 : 19:56:58 We do not have calibration source. you can buy it from somewhere else.
All software settings are saved into registry. So, you do not need to set every time.
If your software does not save, then it must be something wrong.

Posted - 07/23/2011 : 16:49:55 Thank you, where would one get a standard calibration radioactive source, without someone official knocking on my door?
Also, I program in VB and .Net. I notice that I have to setup the software every time I open it. It would be very simple to have it save your settings upon closing the setup form. It looks like you coded this in VB. I have many examples of saving to registry or ini files, or easily found on the net. |

Posted - 07/23/2011 : 11:28:12 The hardware is precalibrated. You do not need to do any calibration.
The software may need calibration if you want a more accurate reading on dose uSv/h and mR/h.
The calibration is very easy. You need a standard calibration radioactive source. Place the source close to the GMC-200. You can place it on top of radiation LED indicator. Read the CPM count from the software. Then in the setting-->other menu window, enter the CPM you readed and the your source does. uSv/h. |
