Posted - 11/26/2025 : 18:37:59 Hi everyone, I recently bought a GQ Geiger Muller Counter and I’m trying to calibrate it using very weak radiation sources, like particles from soil samples or objects containing thorium. I don’t want to use strong sources for safety reasons. Has anyone tried calibrating in these conditions and could share their experience? I’m especially interested in ensuring accuracy when counting very rare particles.

Posted - 11/28/2025 : 17:56:28 If you know the dose rate of your sources, you can just plug it into the geiger counter calibration parameters and what CPM you get from them. |
