The steps to remove and then solder back a SMD chip. Following tools are used:

1. a 2-in1 rework station (TOOL-021)

2. SMD rework essential pack (TOOL-031)

Remove Steps:

1. Prepar the SMD rework station

Adjust temperature to 350 degree C on both hot air and iron.

2. Use hot air to heat the chip and remove the chip using the tweezer.

3. Chip removed

[b]4. Plcae the chip in adapter for read/write on programmer

Hello, if you want some in depth info and video of how to do all the things asked in this forum , rework, solder, R&R chips

look at a guy in NY that repairs MAC boards as he has all sorts of FREE videos on how to R&R chips and how to protect other chips on the board next to what your doing.

No I don't know this guy but watch lots of his videos as he really explains how to do chip and board repair RIGHT

he has lots of youtube videos for all that sort of stuff, just search on youtube

Hello @ZLM
While using hot air to desolder the SMD components, What temperature is reasonably safe?

The iron is going to be used when soldering back the chip.

I have a question: Why turn on the iron if it is not used?

Thank you!

Raymond
